He is on his way home now.” The Punch had earlier reported that the Obanikoro had met all his bail conditions on Thursday, November 3 night and the commission was processing his release. Earlier reports emerged that Senator Obanikoro had agreed to return N480 million to the federal government in an undertaking he signed. The former minister who returned from the United States and willingly submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had cooperated well with the anti-graft agency. Meanwhile, EFCC chairman Ibrahim Magu has alleged that some forces not comfortable with his campaign to rescue the nation from the vice grip of corruption are plotting to ruin his reputation. Magu in a statement on Thursday, November 3, through the spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, said those behind the plot were already spreading campaigns of misinformation in the social media intended to impugn his integrity and set him against certain interests both within and outside of government, Premium Times reports.
