Apart from being a Frenchman, the foreigner allegedly captured by soldiers when they attacked the Sambisa forest in Borno state recently is an expert in Amoured Personnel Carriers (APCs).
This disclosure was made by some of military sources, according to Daily Trust.
The troops captured the foreigner while they attacked Sambisa forest
The Nigerian military is yet to make the identity of the captured foreigner known allegedly for diplomatic reasons, but the report insisted that he is a Frenchman and is already assisting with information.

The report quoted a source as saying: “He was arrested along the Bama axis of the Sambisa forest and agreed to give vital information provided he would be spared.
“I learnt that he is from France but authorities do not want to make his real identity known for diplomatic reasons…They don’t want to jeopardize the success recorded.”
It is not known yet how he found himself in the forest, but Cameroon, Niger Republic and Chad which are Nigeria’s neighbours in the northeast are French-speaking.

The report said the French embassy did not respond to an email and text message sent to it for reaction.
President Muhammadu Buhari and the soldiers who captured the Sambisa forest have been receiving commendations since the success was recorded.
One of the soldiers who, with his colleagues captured the camp zero in the forest also revealed how the feat was achieved.
