Police arrest teenager for raping 10-a-old girl in Ogun State



The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Felix Gbadebo, for allegedly defiling a 10- year- old girl, Rachel.

The incident, our correspondent gathered, happened on Saturday on Alani Akintoye Street, Railway line, Ijoko, in the Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, explained that the suspect lured the victim into his room under the guise of sending her on an errand, covered her mouth with a pillow and raped her.
Rachel was said to have reported the rape to her father, who lodged a complaint with the police at the Sango division.

Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said, “The Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Sango division , Akinsola Ogunwale, dispatched police detectives to the scene and got the suspect arrested.

He said, “The Commissioner of Police in charge of the state police command, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti- Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for investigation.”

“The PPRO said Iliyasu had appealed to parents in the state to always monitor their children to prevent them from falling into the hands of people with criminal intent.
