Ize-Iyamu leads mass protest against defeat in Benin

– The result of the governorship election in Edo state which favoured the All Progressives Congress (APC) has not gone down well with the PDP

– Pastor Ize Iyamu of the PDP says God categorically asked him to pursue his case of alleged election rigging against the APC till his mandate is returned

As threatened recently, Pastor Osaie Ize-Iyamu, the defeated candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just-concluded governorship election in Edo state, has led a massive protest against the result of the exercise which favoured Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Since the final result of the election was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (EFCC) on September 29, supporters of Pastor Ize-Iyamu have led various protests in Benin, the state capital while Governor Adams Oshiomhole and his APC supporters have continued to celebrate.

Being a pastor, he said he actually asked God to whether to forgo the election and face his life, but “I heard Him clearly asking me to pursue and recover all without fail.”
